9. HOW HEAVY ARE THE TILE PANELS PRODUCED BY BRATEXUSA?
BratexUSA metal roofing weights only .96 lb per sq. ft., this is approximately 10 times less than clay tiles. In leiu of this fact, metal roofs should be given more preference in areas where earthquakes and tornadoes are more likely.

12. CAN BRATEXUSA ROOFING TILE PANELS BE PLACED ON TOP OF AN EXISTING ROOF?
Yes, metal roof can be installed on top of the existing asphalt shingles, as long as you do not have more than 1 layer of shingles underneath.
13. IS IT SAFE TO WALK ON A MATAL ROOF?
Many people fear that walking on metal roof can cause damage and dent the material. The truth is you can safely walk on metal roof without fear of damaging it. For your own safety however we suggest that you contact either us or your installer and be advised about the details of how to properly walk on the particular roof you have, based on the tilt and style of your roof.
14. IS A METAL ROOF GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
We use organic NOVA and NOVAMAT coating on our roof which is an environmentally safe material. Another option that we offer for becoming more environmentally conscious is a special Prelaq Energy coating which preserves the energy at 7% higher rate than any other coating.
