Not only are the risks of having a metal roof on your house virtually non-existent, but it is actually even safer than any other conventional roofing out there since metal roofs are neither combustible nor flammable! In an event of your house being struck by lightning metal roof would distribute the energy safely throughout the entire structure.

5. DOES HAVING A METAL ROOF MAKE RAIN MORE AUDIBLE THAN WITH CONVENTIONAL SHINGLE ROOF?

7. IS METAL ROOF HEAT AND FIRE RESISTANT?
Metal roof is the most heat and fire safe and resistant roof out there.  It is classified as a non-combustible roofing material with class A rating- the highest rating awarded.

8. DOES HAVING A METAL ROOF ON MY HOUSE MAKES IT HARD FOR AIR TO CIRCULATE?

Due the fact that metal tiles are not flat but have a slightly raised ridges makes them not only aesthetically pleasing but also allows for a continuous air circulation keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We also offer an optional Prelaq Energy coating which is particularly well suited if the aim is to achieve reduced cooling requirements or reduced ventilation requirements, e.g. during the summer in office premises, commercial premises, industrial buildings or cold storage buildings. If air conditioning and Prelaq Nova Exterior are used for lowering the indoor temperature, the energy costs for refrigeration can be substantially reduced.

9. HOW HEAVY ARE THE TILE PANELS PRODUCED BY BRATEXUSA?
BratexUSA metal roofing weights only .96 lb per sq. ft., this is approximately 10 times less than clay tiles. In leiu of this fact, metal roofs should be given more preference in areas where earthquakes and tornadoes are more likely. 

10. CAN ROOF COATING FADE?
Our roofs are coated with special organic NOVA and NOVAMAT coating highly resistant to weathering conditions and extreme weather abuse. Yes, we provide up to 50 years warranty on steel and a lifetime warranty on aluminum metal roof.

12. CAN BRATEXUSA ROOFING TILE PANELS BE PLACED ON TOP OF AN EXISTING ROOF?
Yes, metal roof can be installed on top of the existing asphalt shingles, as long as you do not have more than 1 layer of shingles underneath.

13. IS IT SAFE TO WALK ON A MATAL ROOF?
Many people fear that walking on metal roof can cause damage and dent the material. The truth is you can safely walk on metal roof without fear of damaging it. For your own safety however we suggest that you contact either us or your installer and be advised about the details of how to properly walk on the particular roof you have, based on the tilt and style of your roof.

14. IS A METAL ROOF GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
We use organic NOVA and NOVAMAT coating on our roof which is an environmentally safe material. Another option that we offer for becoming more environmentally conscious is a special Prelaq Energy coating which preserves the energy at 7% higher rate than any other coating. In addition, metal tiles allow you to install metal roof on top of the existing asphalt shingles which reduces the amount of waste dumped into U.S. landfills every year.
